Gen Jeje Odongo Pledges Peace, Honest Friendship As He Takes Charge Of Foreign Affairs Ministry

Uganda’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen Jeje Odongo has promised to follow a path of peace and honest friendship with nations.

Odongo made the pledge after taking Oath as Minister on Monday.

“I pledge peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations,” Odongo tweeted.

He added, “Uganda will fulfill its international responsibilities and will face every challenge on its doorstep with honesty and integrity.”

Jeje replaces Sam Kahamba Kutesa who had been at the post since 2005.

Odongo moves to Foreign Affairs after serving as Internal Affairs Minister from 2016.

Previously he served as Minister of State for Defence from February 2009 to June 2016.
