1 Mins read

The post of army boss fell literally vacant when President Yoweri Museveni nominated Gen David Muhoozi to be state minister for Internal Affairs.

On Thursday, Parliament approved the appointment of Muhoozi as minister paving the way for the appointment of a new army boss.

Sources tell us top generals in the army are gripped with anxiety as President Museveni who is also Commander-in-Chief is set to appoint a new army chief.

“I can not be a minister and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) at the same it. We are waiting for the Commander in Chief to appoint another CDF,” Gen Muhoozo said shortly after his approval as Minister of State for Internal Affairs.

It waits to be seen who Museveni will name as CDF although social media has been awash with speculation about possible Muhoozi replacements.
