Col Nakalema To Probe Medical Facilities Overcharging COVID19 Patients

The head of the State House Anti-corruption Unit says she is set to probe medical facilities charging exorbitant prices as they treat COVID19.

Col Edith Nakalema said this in a tweet while responding to a screen shot showing high prices of a medical facility.

“Indeed alarming! We shall coordinate with police and MoH to question these exorbitant prices. Fighting corruption requires collective efforts and together we can make a difference,” Nakalema tweeted.

Col Nakalema was responding to this tweet;

The issue has been a subject of debate after reports emerged that some medical facilities ask for a minimum of shs3m for them to start treating COVID19 patients at their facilities.

Nakalema, recently stormed bus parks after she received news that owners had hiked the prices of transport forcing many especially school going children who were returning home to be stranded.

Working with police and Ministry of Health, they managed to secure transport for the students
