Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his DR Congo counterpart, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi on Wednesday, commissioned a road infrastructure connectivity project.
The project covers the Mpondwe/Kasindi-Beni Road (80km); the Bunagana-Rutshuru-Goma road (89km and the Beni-Butembo Axis (54km).
“These projects will cause tremendous social-economic transformation of the lives of the people in the two countries. I thank H.E Tshisekedi for bringing Congo into the East African Community and for honoring my invitation to this ceremony,” Musevebi said.
“If this project is complete, it will work towards our economic development. That is why, we as Congolese encourage it. I wish to encourage the people constructing the road to do good work. I believe God is going to help us achieve this,” DRC President Tshisekedi said.
Construction firm Dott Services will undertake building the roads.
