The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeje Odong on Tuesday appeared at Parliament wearing a mask said to be costing over 3.7 million shillings.
Odong was at Parliament for his vetting.
His mask has since been a point of discussion on social media platforms in Uganda.
It’s an LG Puricare mask that makers say kills 99.9% of bacteria and has respiratory sensors.

If you feel you want to spend more, you can also buy its case which is equipped with UV-LED lights that kill harmful germs, the one-of-a-kind case can even charge the mask and sends a notification to the LG ThinQ mobile app (Android/iOS) when the filters need to be replaced for peak performance. The price of the case is similar to the price of the mask itself at over UGX 1 million depending on where you buy it from online. The combination of both mask and case is also available locally at UGX 3.7 million which the normal wanainki cannot afford.
Additionally to the mask, the box comes with 2 HEPA filters, 10 replaceable inner covers for the internal faceguard, a carrying pouch, neckband, and USB cable for charging.
