CABINET: Museveni Forwards 4 Names To Parliament As Anxiety Grips Hopefuls

There is heightened anxiety among members of Uganda’s political class as President Yoweri Museveni prepares to name his new government.

As you read this, four names have been forwarded to Parliament for approval as news of the impending cabinet list continues to keep many on tenterhooks.

Sources say Museveni has forwarded people for the positions of Vice President, Prime Minister, Chief Whip and Finance Minister for approval.

On Wednesday, President Museveni asked the ruling NRM Party Parliamentary Caucus to support his proposal to add one more slot in the list of State Minister, a proposal that was unanimously agreed to.

NRM MPs and former ministers are tense and having sleepless nights as they await the news of the full cabinet list.
