The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Parliamentary caucus has passed a resolution supporting Pressident Yoweri Museveni’s proposal to add one more slot for State Minister.
This means the new cabinet will have 80 members in total.
While addressing the MPs gathered at Kololo Independence Grounds, Museveno said he will release the list of his new cabinet soon.
Museveni thanked the MPs for the way they conducted themselves during the election of Speaker and his deputy, despite the threat if factions.
“Politics is about force, you must have force and act as a force. You had created factions (Oulanyah and Kadaga). Such factions are not good and shouldn’t happen in our party,” Museveni said.
He added, “I want to thank you for the way you conducted yourselves in the Speaker and Deputy Speaker race. You behaved like a party.”
