Opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) party is going to spend Wednesday seeking God’s intervention.
According to the party’s spokesperson, Joel Ssenyonyi, all party members have been rallied to pray to the almighty as President Museveni swears-in.
“As NUP,we’ve declared tomorrow a day of prayer&fasting. We’ll beseech God to heal Uganda(2Chronicles 7:14).As Mr.Museveni swears himself after a rigged election, killing, incarcerating & maiming pple, NUP leaders will be at NUP offices to pray. You too can pray from wherever you’ll be,” Senyonyi tweeted.
NUP party boss, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Eine lost the January elections to Museveni.
In the run-up to the inauguration, there had been scattered rumors that the opposition was working to fail the event.
Bobi Wine withdrew an election challenge in March citing bias from the judiciary.
His home has been cordoned off by security after reports emerged that he planned to organise his own inauguration.
