Uganda and Cuba are working closely to establish strong relations between their legislatures.
On Friday, Cuba’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Antonio L. Pubillones hosted a group of parliamentarians led by Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah at the Embassy in Kampala.
According to a tweet by Oulanyah, the two discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and how to enhance cooperation.
“We continued our discussion with H.E. Antonio L. Pubillones, the Amb. of Cuba to Uganda on bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration btn the two Parliaments at the Cuban Embassy this afternoon Ug. and Cuba share many similarities and the Cuban p’ple are just as hospital as Ugandans,” Oulanyah tweeted.
Friday’s meeting between the Deputy Speaker and Ambassador followed another just over two weeks ago, in which the former also mentioned the same.
“Had a fruitful discussion with the Ambassador to Cuba H.E. Antonio Louis Pubillones. We discussed bilateral relations and delved into areas of joint cooperation between the two Parliaments; Cuba and Uganda,” Oulanyah said.
At that meeting, Ambassador Pubillones addressed a group of MPs and appealed to Uganda to reopen her full diplomatic presence including embassy in Havana, Cuba’s capital.
