International Medical Group (IMG) has appointed Dr. Mamello Muhanuuzi as the Group Head of Medical Service and Quality Assurance, a role which entailsproviding comprehensive technical, operational, and administrative oversight at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) and International Medical Centers (IMC).
International Medical Group, owned by Mauritius based CIEL Group is the largest private Healthcare Group in Uganda.
The Group comprises of International Hospital Kampala (IHK) – the only accredited COHASA Hospital in Uganda, International Medical Center (IMC) a network of clinics spread all over Uganda providing quality primary healthcare services, International Air Ambulance (IAA) and International Medical Foundation (IMF) – the corporate social responsibility arm of the Group.
Profile
Dr. Mamello Muhanuuzi is a medical doctor, healthcare management specialist and seasoned hospital administrator with over 14 years’ progressive experience in providing comprehensive technical, operational and administrative oversight in the private healthcare sector.
Over the years, she has gained expertise in Hospital Administration & Management, Strategic Business Planning, Positioning and Analysis in Healthcare, Project Management, Healthcare Insurance as well as Health Systems Planning & Management.
Prior to this, she worked with leading and reputable healthcare organizations in different capacities as Medical Director, Ag. Head of Medical Services & Clinical Services Manager, Health Center Manager and Senior Medical Officer at Holy Family Virika Hospital, Nakasero Hospital, AAR Healthcare Uganda and International Medical Group (IHK/IMC) respectively.
Speaking about her appointment, Sukhmeet Sandhu, the IMG Chief Executive Officer said that, “We are extremely excited to have Dr. Mamello working with us and her appointment comes in at an opportune time as we streamline our processes in a bid to serve our wide clientele better and strengthen our world class offering across the board.”
Dr. Mamello is a member of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Women’s Leadership in Private Healthcare Global Working Group and also a member of Public-Private Mix Technical Working Committee (PPM-TWC) set up by USAID Defeat TB Project under the National TB and Leprosy Program, Ministry of Health Uganda.
She is enthusiastic about women empowerment, inclusion and development. Dr. Mamello is a volunteer and mentor with the Project Girls for Girls, Global Marketing Initiative which seeks to empower young women to cultivate their capacity to lead.
She is also a member of The Boardroom Africa, a Pan- African organization that promotes exceptional female talent to boards across the continent.
She is enthusiastic about women empowerment, inclusion and development and as such volunteers as a Mentor with the Project Girls for Girls, Global Mentoring Initiative which seeks to empower young women to cultivate their capacity to lead and a Member of The Boardroom Africa, a Pan-African organization that promotes exceptional female talent to boards across the continent.
