Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has suspended the Director General of the Tanzania Port Authority (TPA), Deusdedit Kakoko, and ordered an investigation.
The President’s decision came in response to the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) report which shows a loss of TZS 3.6 billion by TPA (Ushs 5.6bn).
President Suluhu’s decision was made on Sunday in which she also ordered the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) to commence investigations.
The move comes two days after fallen President John Pombe Magufuli was laid to rest in his hometown of Chato. It has also excited supporters of Late Magufuli who think Suluhu will follow through with his iron hand on corruption.
