Fallen Tanzania President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli has been praised as instrumental in deepening cooperation between East Africa states.
Uganda’s Premier Ruhakana Rugunda said this while moving a motion in the country’s parliament to pay tribute to Magufuli who passed on a week ago.
“Magufuli was instrumental in widening and deepening co-operation among the partner states of the @jumuiya for mutual benefit and encouraged projects that brought the people of the East Africa together. In the last five years, H.E #Magufuli has achieved global recognition for his vision, ethical standards and innovative solutions for Tanzania,” Rugunda said.
He added, “H.E #Magufuli made, as a central pillar of his administration, the fight against corruption, tribalism, greed, laziness, poor service delivery and wastage of government resources and redefined the role of the public service by inculcating hard work and service delivery as a tool for social economic transformation, with the motto of “”Hapa Kazi Tu,” which translates as “work only.”
On Wednesday, Rugunda visited the Tanzania High Commission to Uganda to condole with the people of Tanzania.
The Leader of the Opposition, Hon @OcanAol who seconded the motion said that the late #Magufuli was a great leader who developed #Tanzania infrastructure like roads, railway and electricity access.
