Tanzania’s President John Pombe Magufuli is dead. He died while receiving treatment in Dar es Salaam, Vice President Samia Suluhu has confirmed.
Suluhu made the announcement on Wednesday evening in a televised address, ending weeks of speculation about the whereabouts of President Magufuli.
She said Magufuli succumbed to a heart disease at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute in Tanzania.
