BREAKING: Bobi Wine Withdraws Election Petition

1 Mins read

Former Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has withdrawn his election petition challenging the presidential election results.

Bobi Wine announced the shocking decision on Monday saying the Supreme Court where he filed the petition was biased.

“We are withdrawing from the courts but we are not opting for violence. We are withdrawing the case from Mr Owiny Dollo’s court,” Bobi Wine said.

Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo is the Chief Justice and was leading the panel of judges who were set to hear the petition.

Bobi adds that the Court has clearly indicated that it can’t provide justice to him after blocking him to provide additional evidence.

Explaining the action, NUP spokesperson, Joel Ssenyonyi said, “We have respect for the justice system but we have our reservations regarding the way things are being done in the build up to this petition, that’s why we have decided to withdraw it.”
