Police & Military Still At My House — Bobi Wine

1 Mins read

National Unity Platform president, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine has revealed that police and military is still surrounding his home.

“The High Court ruled this morning that my continued house arrest (11 days now) is illegal & unconstitutional. Several hours later, the military still surrounds my home, blocking access to all! Perhaps (as always) waiting for Gen. Museveni’s orders on the next course of action,” said Bobi Wine in a tweet this afternoon.

It should be noted that High Court sitting in Kampala today issued an order directing police and the military to vacate Hon Robert Kyagulanyi’s premises in Magere.

While addressing the media today, Uganda Police Spokesperson, CP Fred Enanga said that the Police is in the process of vacating Bobi Wine’s home.

Court added that the indefinite confinement of Kyagulanyi at his home is unlawful and unconstitutional.

It should be noted that National Resistance Movement (NRM) party presidential candidate, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni brushed off ten other candidates to extend his presidency to 40 years after Electoral Commission (EC) chairman Simon Byabakama credited him 5,851,037 votes, representing 58.64% of the 9,978,093 valid votes.

Final results from the EC indicated that closest opposition challenger, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine had a cumulative tally of 3,475,298 votes (34.83).

Bobi Wine rejected the results saying that the election was rigged though he didn’t explain how the rigging was conducted.
