President Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta of the National Resistance Movement was on Saturday Afternoon declared the winner of 2021 presidential elections.
Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta won the presidential race with 5,851,037 votes, representing 58.64%
The second in race was former Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and National Unity Platform president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu famously known as Bobi Wine who garnered 3,475,298 votes which is 34.83%.
In the third place was Forum for Democratic Change president, Patrick Amuriat Oboi with 323,536 which results into 3.24%.
The Electoral Commission said that the elections were largely peaceful and all people who came out to vote indeed cast their votes.
Security what tightened in the whole country in the polling days and the agencies said that this was aimed at protecting the citizens of Uganda.
They further revealed that the deployment will remain until they are sure that there are no threats of instability and post political violence in the country.
President Museveni’s win means that he will extend his 34year rule for more five years in his sixth term.
