Godfrey Aine Kaguta Sodo, a brother to President Museveni has bowed out of the Mawogola North MP race with just a day to the polls.
Reasons for him quitting the race are not yet clear.
The race was hotly contested between Aine Sodo and Shartsi Musherure, a daughter to Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa.
It should be noted that since NRM primaries, the elections in Mawogola North have been bloody up to the extent that people were beaten to pulp and brutalized.
After the hotly contested primaries, Sodo was declared winner but it was short-lived since the NRM top organ quashed his victory and declared that they won’t have a flag bearer in Mawogola North.
After the nullification, Kaguta’s brother Sodo decided to sue NRM aiming that the court cancels the decision of the NRM Tribunal which led to him being denied the NRM flag for Mawogola North Constituency.
Sodo’s quitting has given Shartsi K. Musherure a paved road to parliament.
