Minister Kutesa Bids Farewell to Outgoing Japanese Ambassador

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Sam Kahamba kutesa yesterday afternoon hosted a farewell luncheon in honour of the outgoing Ambassador of Japan His Excellency Kazuaki Kameda.

Hon. Kutesa paid a glowing tribute to Amb. Kameda for the significant role he has played in promoting the excellent and friendly bilateral relations between Japan and Uganda.

He cited the construction of the new Nile Bridge, Road and infrastructure development projects like, the ongoing Kampala Flyover Project, as well as interventions in the fields of Agriculture, Health and various Community services as landmark achievements made during the tenure of Ambassador Kameda.

The Minister wished Ambassador Kameda a safe journey back and success in his future assignments.

In his response Ambassador Kameda conveyed a message of gratitude to the Government and the People of Uganda, and in particular, Hon Kutesa and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for all the cooperation and facilities placed at his disposal during his tour of duty that enabled him to execute his duties.

The Ambassador pledged to continue promoting the good relations between Japan and Uganda. 

The luncheon was attended by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, H.E. Mohammed Sulieman Ahmed, the Chief Representative of JICA in Kampala, The Permanent Secretary Min. Of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Patrick Mugoya, and Senior Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
