This is in violation of the Presidential directives against the spread of COVID-19.

During the presidential directives on reopening public transport, he discouraged brokers and touts in taxi and bus parks.

Elly Matte, the spokesperson for Police in Kigezi region says these brokers grab people and their property without knowing their health status, on top of people’s property getting lost.

“They negotiate money with passengers and remain behind which at times causes complaints, among other things. They have been warned from doing the same and asked to disseminate the same information to their other colleagues. The operations will continue until after they themselves come to order,” Matte said.
