As the Uganda Cranes camp prepares for a trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at least one person has tested positive for COVID-19.
The affected member might be left behind.
According to sources, the affected member has been already taken into quarantine at makeshift centre, Nambole Stadium.
It should be noted that the team was supposed to travel to Dubai yesterday but there was a delay in securing all the required documents.
“The team (local based and the technical staff) were initially supposed to travel today (October 04) and had embarked on their journey, however, delay in processing the travel entry clearance to Dubai has caused a setback in the arrangements,” reads the statement on FUFA website.
They were set to travel today according to FUFA Communications Director, Ahmed Hussein.
“The travel plans for Uganda Cranes contingent to Dubai have been rescheduled to Monday 5th October 2020 due a delay in acquiring the travel entry clearance to UAE.”
However, the information obtained by Ug Mirror shows that the team is still preparing to carry on with the journey despite the incident that befell the camp.
It should however be noted that on Thursday last week all team members in the camp tested negative for COVID-19.
Sources indicated that the camp in Dubai will be for nine days as the cranes prepare to battle it out with South Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
