Tanga Odoi Cancels Minister Rwamirama’s Victory

1 Mins read

The NRM electoral Commission boss, Dr Tanga Odoi has cancelled the victory of Hon Bright Rwamirama, the minister of state minister for animal husbandry.

Tanga Odoi said that there was massive vote rigging, intimidation, violence in the NRM primaries in Isingiro district.

Last weekend, Rwamirama had been declared winner in the Isingiro North NRM primaries.

This website also understands that elections in Isingiro South were also suspended after residents stormed the NRM district offices opposing the announcement of Alex Bakunda who they say had lost.

“After one week, I will decide what to do; to either announce the winner after all the candidates sort themselves out or conduct a fresh election,” said Odoi.

It is worth noting that the just concluded NRM primaries were marred with violence, voter rigging and bribery.
