A group of born-again faith pastors have joined National Unity Platform under the leadership of Kyadondo East legislator and presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.
According to Kyagulanyi, each and every individual has a role to play in the struggle to liberate the country which has been in captivity over 30 years.
“The National Unity Platform yet again received several new leaders from various parts of the country. Some of these have been leaders in NRM in various areas of Nakifuma,” he said.
“In a very special way, we also received several pastors of several Pentecostal churches from Kamuli district. I am especially delighted to receive these pastors because it is an act of great courage for men and women of God to defy the dictator and stand with the people,” he added.
Kyagulanyi said for a struggle to rescue Uganda, there is need for commitment noting that; “We need resolve, we need finances and a lot of things to get to the promised land as we call it.”
Among the pastors who joined the party include, Pastor Davids Ogyambo from Buikwe, Pastor Julius Nyerere from Baptist Church in Kamuli, Pastor Steven Wamikke from Kamuli, Pastor Kenneth Mugabane from the New Life Born Again Church in Kamuli, Pastor Richard Muhumuza from Namwendwa, Pastor Kato Steven from Buikwe and Pastor Andrew Muwanguzi from Jinja.
Speaking on behalf of the Pastors, Pastor Ogyambo vowed to stand with the party leader, Kyagulanyi in the forthcoming elections.
“What you’re seeing today was not started by politicians. In the villages where we come from, you can’t even collect tithe of more than Shs3,000. People are in poverty and instead of being custodians of God’s people, the government has failed us,” he said.
