Kyadondo East MP and president of the National Unity Platform, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine yesterday appointed four regional deputies of the party.

He appointed Mathias Mpuuga as deputy president in charge of the central region, John Baptist Nambesh for eastern Uganda, Jolly Mugisha Ekyomugasho for Western and Dr. Lina Zedriga in charge of the north.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new leaders at the NUP headquarters in Kamwokya, he said that it is high the time for skeptics and doubters to start taking the party seriously. “I am very honored to unveil you today. It gives me pride and extreme confidence to know that I have deputies that are even much more experienced than I am. The nation can no longer doubt us. Now they know that we are serious, but most importantly Ugandans know that by trusting NUP with their vote, they will be in safe hands, ” Kyagulanyi said.

The four regional deputies join Joel Senyonyi, Flavia Kalule, David Lewis Rubongoya , Aisha Kabanda and Fred Nyanzi, as leaders in NUP.

NUP is also setting up roots in different parts of Uganda to come up with a strong opposition force.

This same week, a delegation from the European Union led by the head of the EU delegation to Uganda, ambassador Attilio Pacific paid a courtesy visit to the NUP head offices and engaged the party leadership in a closed-door meeting.

Senyonyi, the NUP spokesperson the meeting was used to present the objectives of NUP, and their level of preparedness as a political party seeking political power in the forthcoming elections although he did not reveal the exact details of what was discussed.
