Russia Announces World’s First Coronavirus Vaccine

Russian President Vladmir Putin has officially annoucned that Russia has developed a vaccine.

Speaking at a live teleconference, Putin said the vaccine had been tested and had gone through all the necessarily checks.

He also added that one of his daughters took the vaccine and she is now better. “I think this way she participated in the experiment. After the first injection her temperature was 38 degree Celsius, the next day it was 37- something and that’s it. After the second injection, the temperature also got a bit higher but that’s it, then it went back down. Now she feels well,” Putin explained.

Russia has released no scientific data on how the vaccine was tested to verify whether the vaccine is indeed safe to use.

The speed at which Russia is moving to roll out the vaccine after only two months of testing posses questions of its effectiveness.

The vaccine was developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya institute .

Putin hopes that other world leaders will work together with Russia to see how the vaccine can be used to curb the increasing numbers of coronavirus patients.
