JUST IN: Andrew Mwenda To Take On Bobi Wine For NUP Presidency.

1 Mins read

This morning, journalist and owner of the Independent Andrew Mwenda walked to the People Power offices in Kamwokya and picked nomination forms to stand against Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for the National Unity Platform presidency.

This has come as a shock to many as Andrew has never been known to be a supporter of the pressure group. However according to sources, Andrew will be contesting against Bobi Wine to show expose the greediness to Bobi Wine and his team.

In a video Andrew says, “This morning I went to the ehadquarters of NUP, registered as a member and paid, picked all this regalia and also picked forms to run as a presidential candidate in NUP. So where Bobi Wine had been declared as sole president candidate just like in the NRM, I want to challenge him so that there is democracy in the party.” He went on said that he is confident that he will defeat Bobi Wine in the primaries.

Andrew also expressed that NUP is not as radical I he previously thought. Andrew declared that he wanted to join NUP today morning during the Morning Breeze show on NBS. NUP party spokesperson Joel Senyonyi said that they were ready to receive him in the party. He therefore went through with his words and registered as a memeber of the party.

This brings more drama to the NUP camp that is still in battle with the electoral commission over their choice of party color. We are yet to see what the addition of Andrew Mwenda to the party means for NUP and People Power as a pressure group in general.
