Former NTV journalist Brian Earnest Damba, who disappeared from the scenes around 2018, has been smoked out in Netherlands.
Our sources reveal that Damba, who was a resident of Nsambya, mysteriously fled the country after people started mocking him by referring to him as a ‘She-Male’, while others threatened to lynch him for practicing immorality.
The attacks came especially after he was seen among the boys that former gay football personality Chris Mubiru used to move with in Kampala.
Among the boys were footballers, fashionistas.
It is said that when people in Nsambya saw Damba with some of them they started witch-hunting him and calling him one of ‘Mubiru’s girlfriends.
At the time, he had just got a job at NTV and became so worried about the endless attacks and threats of exposure, so he shifted and rented a house in Mulago.
However, even then, his tormentors kept insulting and threatening him whenever they met him in public places.
When life in Uganda became too hard for him, Damba is said to have fled the country with help of friends in his ‘Men Fraternity’ based in the Netherlands, where he is said to be hibernating.
However, other sources say he got threats on his life during the time he used to cover political riots and through such circles he managed to fly out on pretext of going to seek treatment after he was beaten badly while covering the demonstration for the release of singer turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine, who had been arrested over illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
