Museveni Says He’s Tested Negative For COVID, Warns Two Deaths Are ‘Jaribu’

Presidet Yoweri Museveni has warned Ugandans of the threat posed by the coronavirus saying the two people it has claimed are just a ‘sample’ of what it can do.

Museveni sounded the warning on Tuesday after being nominated as the NRM Party presidential flag bearer for the country’s general polls next year.

“If you wanted to see death, you have now seen them. We have been begging you not to die. These two are “endoozo, jaribu”. Museveni said.

The country on Sunday registered it’s second COVID-19 death, an 80-year-old who passed away in Mengo, a Kampala city suburb.

Museveni who was speaking with a hoarse voice revealed he had done tests which turned out negative.

“I apologise for the hoarse voice, I had some sore throat. My first fear was that I had got coronavirus, so I called the doctors to take a sample,” Museveni said.

On Tuesday, the health ministry announced that seven new cases of the virus had been confirmed bringing the total of cases to 1, 135.
