Katwe Police station has apprehendedĀ  presidential advisor on ghetto affairs, Mark Bugembe popularly known as Butcherman for storming and interrupting a security meeting on Thursday.

The singer who was very angry and cruel went with a gang of people demanding explanations as to why people are being chased way from wetlands at a time when we are all battling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the meeting had been attended by  NEMA officials, RCC Kampala, and other security agencies aimed at finding the lasting solutions on how people can evacuate the wetlands.

“We were assessing the damage caused by the rising water that has affected the people living near the lakes. Many people have been affected and there has been destruction of building and property. So there was a community engagement with the members of the public to talk to them about the dangers of living near the lakes and what the government is planning for them, ” He explained.

Speaking to Ug Mirror on Friday Morning, Onyango accused Butcherman for mobilising a group of gang to disorganise the security meeting that was taking place without understanding what was going on.

“So in the process, police ordered him to leave the place  immediately but he refused so we had nothing to do but to arrest him and the group that he came with,” Onyango said.

He said that the singer was arrested from Kibumbiro zone in Makindye division along side all his gang of people.Ā Butcherman is currently detained at Katwe police station on charges of inciting violence.
