Mityana Municipality MP, Hon Francis Zaake’s situation has worsened and is said to have been put on Oxygen.

“Hon. Francis Zaake’s health condition has worsened. He has now been placed on oxygen at Kiruddu hospital where he is currently admitted, still under police detention,” revealed People Power Movement Leader, Bobi Wine.

He added that; “The doctors are contemplating taking him into the ICU! A Member of Parliament is tortured to near death by regime enforcers!”

It is said upon arrest, Zaake was badly tortured for allegedly flouting a presidential directive against distribution of food.

By the time he was brought to court, the flamboyant young MP looked helpless as he could not stand nor speak.

Mityana chief magistrate ordered him to seek medical attention before his case is heard.

Yesterday Bobi Wine explained the torture of Zaake as follows;

In an affidavit sworn by Hon. Paul Mwiru who was the only one permitted to see Hon. Zaake while at SIU Kireka,

“Hon. Zaake was visibly frail. His face was thoroughly bruised. His shirt was torn to threads. His joints were swollen.

Bits of flesh hang off his chest as though someone had attempted to randomly pluck them out with a fork but stopped midway. He could not see. He could not stand.”

The pictures of Hon. Zaake in court were very disturbing to watch yesterday.

As we continue doing everything to secure his freedom, let’s reflect on what country we want our children to grow up in.

The regime has tried to normalise violence. IT IS NOT NORMAL. IT IS OUTRAGEOUS, and we shall fight on until we have our freedom
