11 More Cases of Coronavirus Detected, Six Are Watoto Church Choir Children

Uganda has registered 11 more positive cases of Coronavirus, Ug Mirror reports.

The cases were announced today by president Yoweri Museveni during his address to the nation on the status of Coronavirus in Uganda and how to prevent its further spread.

“The Ministry of Health confirms eleven (11) new cases of COV1D-19 in Uganda. The total number of COVID•19 cases now stands at 44.,” reads the statement from ministry of health.

The 11 new confirm. cases were all under institutional quarantine at the time of test. They presented with signs and symptoms that are common with COVID.19.

The cases include:

1. A 29-year-old Ugandan female. resident of Kyania, Nakawa who is a contact to one of the previously confirmed cases

2. A 27-year-old Ugandan male, resident of Mpererwe, who arrived from the United Kingdom.

3. A 9-year-old Ugandan female, resident of Suubi Watoto village who arrived from the United Kingdom.

4. A 7-year-old Ugandan female, resident of Suubi Watoto village, who arrived from the Unit. Kingdom.

5. A 30-year-old Ugandan male, resident of Kisaasi, Kampala who arrived from the United Kingdom.

6. A 10-year-old Ugandan female, resident of Suubi Watoto village who arrived from the United Kingdom.

7. A 10-year-old Ugandan female, resident of Suubi Watoto village who is a contact to one of the previously confirmed cases.

8. A 9-year-old Ugandan male, resident of Biira village, Wakiso who arrived from the United Kingdom.

9. An 8-year-old Ugandan male, resident of Suubi Watoto village who arrived from the United Kingdom.

10. A 27-year-old Ugandan female, resident of Kavule, Makerere who arrived from the United Kingdom.

11. A 26-year-old Ugandan male, resident of Katabi, Wakiso

To date, 1,015 are under follow up and under institutional quarantine.

A total of 660 contacts to the confirmed cases are under follow up.

The Ministry of Health continues to appeal to the population to remain calm but vigilant and continue to practice the preventive measures.

Wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol based hand rub at least three times a day, maintain a social distance of at least 4 meters a d if have flu like symptoms, cover your nose and mouth with a mask.
