The head of community policing department, ACP Anatoli Muleterwa has taken the gospel of sensitizing local leaders and authorities on their roles and responsibilities in the fight against crime to Bukedi Region.
On Tuesday, Muleterwa who was accompanied by SSP Tusingwire Julius Caesar the Bukedi RPC and SP Okino Cyprian met all local leaders from the districts of Tororo and Busia respectively.
He urged them to always convene regular security meetings, give regular and timely updates and other agencies on matters concerning their area security, report and give information regarding crimes. He also reminded them to establish local council courts which he said will help in reducing case backlogs, on the side of police.
Community policing will transform the force into a modern, pro-people, professional and disciplined force. This engagement is a mutual process requiring the police and the community to work together to improve the quality of life of the people.
