For the past few days, the media has been awash with news about prominent NBS After 5 host, Katamba Edwin also known as MC Kats, but not all has been well.
MC Kats recently revealed his HIV Status, after which he told the populace that he has had the virus for well over eight years and that he was relying on herbal medicine and not the common ARVs like any other HIV/AIDS patient. His fans sought him out to go and get clearly checked and put on the right medication in fear of his wife contracting the Virus.
This was also prompted by a visit to the UK where doctors declared MC Kats as a walking miracle as his CD4 count was extremely low. He was then given some ARVs to use for the meantime.
On arriving in Kampala, his colleagues asked him to check into rehab mostly because of his addictions like drinking although he further misunderstood their reasons and instead claimed that people are calling him ‘mad’.
However, if you watch the video in which he climbs a roof trying to escape from rehab, you will clearly declare him mad.
Kats escaped from Rehab on Friday last week and ran to his former class mate Pastor Bugembe’s church in a bid to go back to God, and the ways of the Lord. In a video that was widely shared, Kats exposes wounds that he got as he escaped from rehab and also explains that he escaped because he was being poorly fed, and ‘mistreated’.
All this comes after MC Kats was put on forced leave by his employer NBS TV, so that he could take care of himself and his health. Our snoops have also revealed to us that MC Kats has over the years not be taking his medication as prescribed but rather ran to local herbs and remedies like cow dung, cow urine, among other local remedies.
We only pray that MC Kats heeds the call of the Lord, and that of his friends to take care of himself.
