Five Quack Medical Practitioners Netted In Lwengo

Police in Lwengo has arrested five quack doctors, who had in their possession government drugs, fake drugs and medical equipment.

The suspects were nabbed during a joint operation between the police and officials under Allied Health Professionals Council in Lwengo.

They were nabbed for selling fake drugs to the public, operating illegally, duplicating their academic documents and defrauding Ugandans.

Officials under Allied Health Professionals Council greatly help police in this operation and the clinics of the suspects have been closed.

The officer in charge of central region Fred Ayesige, said the operations were carried out in the town councils of Kinoni and Kyazanga in Lwengo district where they found privately owned clinics selling government drugs.

He said some of the clinics had no license and also very filthy.

He said these fake medical practitioners have been conning people by claiming to have medicine that cures fertility problems, organ enlargement, cures impotence, prevents kidney and liver complications among others.

He further said there are more clinics which operate illegally and vowed to deal with them.
