FDC Offices Broken Into, Property Taken

At least four computers and printers were allegedly stolen from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) offices in Najjanakumbi last night.

The computers were stolen from the offices of the party’s secretary general and electoral commission.

Brenda Atuzarirwe, an officer in the party’s Electoral Commission was the first to enter the premises this morning. She says she found the door open and noticed that computers were missing.

“I reached at the office at 8.30am only to find the door wide open yet I am the only one with the keys. When I checked inside, the wires from the computers were all broken and some computers had been taken. I then informed my bosses who also informed police about the incident,”Atuzarirwe said.

According to Atuzarirwe, the premises are normally guarded by security personnel.

Atuzarirwe says that the guard on duty at the time of the incident has recored a statement at Najjanankumbi Police Station.

Party officials and staff have been asked to hold on before accessing the premises to allow police carry out their investigations.
