Ugandans Should Forget Our Religious Difference, Forget Tribal Difference – Minister Otafiire Warns

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Kahinda Otafiire has warned politicians against engaging in acts of Sectarianism to gain political mileage noting that such acts have negative effects to the society.

While addressing  the press, Otafiire noted that some political leaders don’t mind of the well being , unity among population  in the society. 

He said such leaders are busy working hard  to  divide  the country along tribal and religious line which he says can easily lead to turmoil in the country. “When leaders sow seeds of discord the result is political discord,”he said.

He noted that political discord has no dimension, it can be mild and can be extreme.”Sometimes ,political discord canend up with loss of lives, blood shed and  refugees,”he said.

He further cautioned political leaders to be very vigilant and careful about  the society stating that, it comprises of different people and they should think how best to  manage it, in order to avoid such kind of catastrophes. 

He appealed to Ugandans to concentrate in building their nation other than being divided in the line of religious and tribal differences.”Ugandans should forget our religious difference, forget tribal difference,” he noted.

He added that this country should not be left broken and fragmented due to  short comes of political leaders.He urged the nation to remain as a united force in order for everyone to full fill his or her long awaited dreams
