Museveni Must Carry Out Surgical Operation On All The Government Ministries — Dr Anas Kaliisa

1 Mins read

Political analyst Dr Anas Kaliisa has said that all the government ministries are rotten and there is a lot of work that should be done by the regime to clean up the rot.

Appearing on his weekly show “Ensi N’ebyayo” on NBS TV, Dr Kaliisa stated that in order to clean and expose the rot in all the government ministries, president Museveni needs to carry out what he termed as “surgical operations”.

“All the ministries are dead, I don’t know where he (president Museveni) will start from,” he noted.

His comments come shortly after NBS TV investigative story “stealing from the sick” that unearthed the illicit stealing of government drugs and also the saga surrounding Bank of Uganda on the issue of printing extra money.

He noted that only little has been exposed in regards to all the fraud in the ministry of health and all the government ministries at large.

“These people stealing drugs, where are they getting it from, that means there are big people involved right away from the top,” he said.

According to Dr Kaliisa, in order to manage fraud, corruption and theft in all the ministries, cleaning should start right from the top to the bottom.

On the issue of Bank of Uganda printing extra currency, Kaliisa noted that police spokesperson Fred Enanga was speaking the truth in regards to the matter.

“Fred Enanga is telling the truth, Ofwono is trying to cover the truth,” he said.

He stated that Ofwono is trying to manage the crisis and how to handle the situation yet everything is already in the media.

“CID has taken over all the inquiries into irregularities surrounding the consignment of money that were printed in the related supply chain. The directorate will however work alongside Lt Col Edith Nakalema’s State House Anti-corruption unit,” Enanga said in the statement.

However, the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo came out and said no extra money was printed and the investigations are not on currency printing but on illegal cargo found on the chartered plane.
