8-year-old girl buried by mud, Two Others Dead in Fresh Bududa Landslides

An 8-year-old girl buried by mud in the fresh landslides that hit Shisakali parish in Buwali Sub-county after heavy rains on Tuesday evening.

Due to these heavy rains, two people were swept away by water in Suume village, Bunamwamba Parish after River Summe burst its banks.

Several people are still missing and several houses were destroyed.

Gardens and animals were also not spared by these deadly mudslides.

The government recently started relocating landslide victims in Bududa to Bulambuli District.

More than 90 families who survived the October 2018 landslides have so far been relocated to the area where 101 houses were built out of the planned 900 houses.
