Justice Catherine Bamugemereire Sued Over Illegal Arrest

Four people have on Tuesday 2nd April 2019 sued Justice Catherine Bamugemereire, the head of Commission of Inquiry into land matters over illegal arrests.

The four people who were identified as Annette Nakukunda, Irene Akiteng, Immaculate Ayebazibwe and Elly Ampurire said they want justice.

The four were arrested on March 12th 2019 when Land Commission invaded Prime Housing estate offices in Masooli, Wakiso district.

The applicants allege that they were arrested and put on awaiting patrol vehicle with private number plate which moved them around Kampala until they reached Justice Catherine Bamugemereire’s home in Buwaate.

The applicants also added that from Justice Bamugemereire’s residence in Buwaate they were taken to Najjera Police station and later to commission offices in Wandegeya.
