UPDF Spokesperson has confirmed the arrested of two bodyguards of a senior army officer Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza for assaulting a female traffic officer on Sunday.
The Gen and his bodyguards were captured assaulting a female traffic officer who was identified as Ester Namaganda.
Namaganda tried to stop their vehicle from making a wrong U turn around Seeta junction Mukono district.
However, Matayo and his bodyguards stopped their vehicle, got out and the scuffle ensued in the due course Namaganda was mishandled.
She narrated that she was slapped seriously and also the soldiers tried to pluck off her rank
Uganda Peoples Defence Forces Spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire confirmed that the soldiers who cause the outrage were apprehended.
The soldiers that were arrested RA/221607L/CPL Bushindiki Peter and RA/230927 Okurut John Robert
The two soldiers are currently being detained at Uganda military police Kampala headquarter, Makindye
The fate of their boss is not yet known however more investigations are still going on.
