A few days ago, we revealed that the Administrator General had issued a warning to singer Jose Chameleone to desist from holding a listener’s party dubbed ‘Moses The Great’, at which he was planning to release fallen singer Moses Sekibogo Nakintijje aka Mowzey Radio’s album.
The album release was slated for 25th January at Chameleone’s new hangout spot.
However, the office of the Administrator General issued a warning to anyone planning to release Radio’s songs to desist from doing so.
The assistant Administrator General Irene Bayiga, in her letter, threatened to drag anyone violating the powers of their offices to court if they release Radio’s music without authorization from their office.
But in a related development, we have learnt that seasoned city lawyer John Katende, through his firm KATS (Katende, Sempebwa & Co. Advocates) has also sounded a warning to anyone defying the earlier warning from the Administrators General’s office about Radio’s songs.
In the letter issued on Monday 21st January 2019, Katende denied having consulted or discussed with anyone to have authority to release or perform any unreleased works of late Mowzey Radio.
The new warning came after singer Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel Manizo had insisted that he has rights to Radio’s music and that the album would drop as planned.
Weasel also promised fans that the listeners’ party will be a silent disco experience and proceedings from the event will go towards supporting Radio’s foundation in Jinja.
The Goodlyfe management has continued publicizing their ‘Moses the Great’ album launch and listeners party that was slated to happen at DNA Lounge, Acacia Avenue.
Weasel’s new letter about the event reveals that late Mowzey Radio was a client of Katende’s firm and they will make all necessary steps to ensure his children benefit from his estate and they are ready to battle in court with any unscrupulous misappropriation of the singer’s estate.
Legendary Mowzey Radio passed on in February 2018 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a bar brawl.
