Flights Delayed After Ethiopian Airlines Plane Goes Past The Runway

Flights have resumed after 10hours at Entebbe international airport.

The delay came when Ethiopian Airlines plane went past the runway while landing.

According to the authorities the incident took place on Thursday morning at around 12:41am causing the delay of other flights to and from the airport.

The civil aviation Authority said in the statement that the plane skidded of the runway during landing.

“All the 138 passengers and the crew disembarked safely,” the statement reads

“Ethiopian airlines B-737-800 aircraft with registration number ET-ATV with flight number ET348 January on regular scheduled service from Addis Ababa to Entebbe Uganda Skipped of the runway by airport during landing.”

Civil Aviation Authority also added that passengers and crew were safely deplaned and were taken to the terminal and cleared normally through regular clearances process and there is no damage to the aircraft and it’s being towed to the ramp.

“We apologise to our valued customer who were on board the flight for the inconveniences an alternative flight is being arranged to complete who were booked to travel.”

The cause of the incident is still unknown but authority says the cause of the incident is under investigation
