Residents of Lusanja village, Sekinyonyi Zone, Kiteezi subcounty Wakiso district on Friday 28th December 2018 refused food items from government demanding for everlasting solutions having been evicted from their land few months ago.

The food relief that was provided through the office of the Prime Minister included Beans and Maize flour

The residents said the food relief government have brought for them will be of no use when they don’t have money for buying firewood, cooking oil and store for keeping the food stuffs with no permanent settlement.

“We are sleeping outside, we don’t have money, store and cooking oil. Let the food be taken to the prisoners,” said one of Lusanja residents.

According to Mr Fred Kanyike, many families feel disgusted and tired of the situation they are currently living in.

He added that they are sleeping outside, no food, no money and the situation is worsening every day because they don’t see any signs of permanent changes coming from their leaders.

“We want permanent solutions from the government and our leaders. We can’t receive food and we don’t have store to keep them and no Money for buying cooking oil and firewood,” he said.

He said what they need is rebuilding of Houses and tangible help for newly born babies, pregnant mothers and elderly.

Some few weeks back Don Wanyama the Senior Presidential Press Secretary said different stakeholders had been directed to provide immediate help to the affected families.
