Bobi Wine Attends Basalirwa’s Victory Party

Justice Forum (JEEMA) president, Hon Asuman Basalirwa who doubles as MP Bugiri Municipality organized a mega victory party on Saturday at Busoga university premises to celebrate his win in the recent election.

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi wine was among the people who managed to attend the function amid a lot of speculations whether he was attending or not basing on the claims that made round on social media that police had issued tough conditions to the organizers of the function however, police came out and refute all the claims and said Bobi wine is Free to attend the party.

On several occasions, Bobi wine has been blocked from holding shows and even attending church services by security agencies however, he sought parliament intervention on the matter and government through minister Jeje Odong allowed him to continue with his businesses unfortunately of recent he was also blocked from performing on boxing day.

Hon Asuman Basalirwa was elected in June in a tight race with NRM candidate Francis Oketcho.

He managed to win with 3928 votes followed by NRM’S Francis Oketcho who got 3267.

During the thanks giving function, Basalirwa pledged to continue boosting the welfare of people in Bugiri municipality more especially the youths by setting up income generating projects such as poultry and many others.

He thanked the people of Bugiri municipality for supporting and voting for him and promised to work hand in hand with them.

He added that he will continue representing their views in the parliament

He also thanked his colleagues for the support and assured his people that he will continue working with them to build and change the nation.

Upon reaching Bugiri municipality, Bobi Wine assured journalists that he travelled safely without any disturbance from the security agencies.

He also said that he used to take his rights lightly but today he realised how vital to be free means because he managed to move safely to Bugiri and talk to his people.

“I am happy to be here, Bugiri is like my home, Basalirwa is like my brother so I feel happy to meet our people,” he said.

The function went on successfully amidst heavy Security deployment

Among the people who attended the function were   Hon Paul Mwiru, Hon Francis Zaake, Second Deputy Prime Minister  Hon Kirunda Kivejinja among others.
