Nawangwe’s Blood Dripping Machete Lands On Stella Nyanzi

Makerere University research fellow Dr Stella Nyanzi has been sacked from the University alongside other 45 senior lecturers.

In massive reshuffle carried out by the University appointments board decided not to renew contracts of some senior staff such as Olive Darlia Buhule, Stella Maris Sendagi, Dr Catherine Namono, Jude Olinga, Dr Swizen Kyomuhendo among others.

According to the Vice Chancellor Makerere University, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, the staff members had either absconded from the duty for 5 years while others are involved in sexual harassment cases.

According to sources within the institution, it was discovered that Dr Stella Nyanzi’s contract had expired but she was kept at the University by the former Vice Chancellor Prof Ddumba Ssentamu.

The University appointments board decided not renew her contract including other 45 senior lecturers.

In October Dr Stella Nyanzi sued the institution for failing to abide by the University tribunal orders which declared that her suspension was illegal.

The same tribunal ordered the University to promote the jailed researcher as well as effect orders in seven days but the institute failed to abide by the order.

On December 12th high court ordered Makerere University to pay costs to Dr Stella Nyanzi for failing to give her application in time

In Massive reshuffle of staff carried out on 22nd December 2018, Dr Stella was among senior academic staff members of Makerere university that were fired.

Stella Nyanzi is currently on a remand at Luzira Prison for harassing president Museveni and his deceased mother on her Facebook.
