Former Blu 3 songstress, Jackie Chandiru was one of the fast-rising artists with a great voice and an inspiration to many.
But her career was cut short after she battled a drug addiction that nearly ended her life if it was not for close friends and family that checked her into rehab.
Since the incidence, the ‘Gold-digger’ hit maker’s music career was suspended.
She has tried to live her life on the low away from social media and the public eye.
However, on Friday last week, worshipers at Pastor Kayanja’s Rubaga Miracle centre were amazed when Jackie arose and went straight to the pulpit during the daily 77 DOGS prayers.
She gave her life to Christ amidst cheers from the congregation and promised to use her voice to worship God who gave her a second chance to live.
“After going through dark times, I can’t believe that I’m still alive. Whatever chance I have, I will thank God…. I am going to tell everybody that He lives and that because He lives, I live” Jackie said told the pastor.
Desire Luzinda who is also in transition from secular to Gospel had something to say about Jackie’s bold decision.
“The other day I saw Jackie Chandiru on 77Dogs giving her life to Christ and While many people focused on what she looked like, I was amazed by her dauntlessness to rise above and fight again. There is no greater joy than that of falling and rising up…”
Desire also encouraged everyone going through a hard time to fight and pick up the pieces.
“To anyone going through a tough time, it does not matter how many times you fall but how you rise up, pick up the pieces and fight is all that matters. The world will scorn you but look to a brighter picture.”
“It is well Jackie and may the God that led you to this decision lead you through it all. If you ever need someone to talk to, a friend…I will be right at you heal.” Desire said.
