Museveni lauds parents on shaping responsible children

President Yoweri Museveni has highly commended parents who guide their children well to be responsible citizens that care about the development of the country.

“Long time ago, people used to grow up in society as irresponsible citizens. Nowadays, good life is TO be born healthy, be nurtured well, educated, employed and achieve marital status at an appropriate age. This is healthy for life,” he said.

The President was speaking at the wedding reception of Superintendent of Police (SP) Andrew Mubiru Kizimula and Faith Fatuma Namirembe that took place last evening at Silver Springs Hotel Bugolobi, Nakawa Division in Kampala.

The groom works in the Forensics section of the Uganda Police Force.

The couple had earlier in the day pronounced their marriage vows in All Saints’ Cathedral, Nakasero.

The groom is son to the late Robert Mubiru and late Sarah Nabitalo Mubiru of Tagga Parish, Kamenyamigo in Lwengo District while the bride is the daughter of Abubaker Katende and Catherine Kawuma  of Nabweru in Kyadondo County,  Wakiso District.

President Museveni, while congratulating the couple, urged them to lead exemplary life in society and work hard in their respective professions.

He also used the occasion to commend all professionals in the country who are working hard for the betterment of the Ugandan society.

He noted that the forensics department of the Uganda Police where Mubiru Andrew is an employee, is important in the fight against of criminal acts.

“Forensics work is an important field in tracking down culprits by the Police. It is an additional device and mechanism to CCTV camera surveillance system recently installed in towns,” he said.

He commended Police personnel such, as Mr. Mubiru Andrew, for their continued fight against crime in the country.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Brigadier Muzeeyi Sabiiti congratulated the couple on their marriage.

He described Police Officer Andrew Mubiru as a dedicated and honest worker.

He urged the wife to support her husband to execute his duties diligently.

The couple thanked President Museveni for taking off time from his busy schedule to grace the reception while their parents commended guests for support towards the success of the marriage of their children.
