Former IGP, Gen Kale Kayihura has today been granted bail by the Makindye General Court martial.
Gen Kayihura was granted Shs10million non cash bail.
Maj Gen Sam Kavuma, Maj Gen James Mugira and Hon Rose Tumusiime were his sureties.
Gen Kayihura was instructed to stay in Kampala and in case he want to go further than that, he should seek permission from the same court.
Kayihura’s lawyers said that the general is very sick and he needs special treatment.
Gen Kayihura is facing charges of failure to protect war materials and abetting kidnap.
This website understands that Kayihura has been detained at Makindye barracks since June 2018.
He was arrested from his Kashagama based farm in Lyantonde district.
