President Alpha Conde Hails Good Uganda, Guinea Relations

The President of the Republic of Guinea, Prof. Alpha Conde, has hailed the existing cordial relations that exist between his country and the Republic of Uganda.

President Conde made these remarks after receiving letters accrediting Amb. Nelson Ocheger, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Guinea with residence in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The ceremony took place on 28 June, 2018 at State House in Conakry.

He added that the state of the bilateral relations makes it possible for both countries to expand cooperation in the energy sector and initiate discussions in livestock production and marketing.

The President emphasized the need for the two countries to immediately commence sharing information in this area.

In his response,  Amb. Nelson Ocheger thanked his host for according him the opportunity to present his letters of credence and assured the President of his commitment to expand the good relations that so happily exit between the two countries.

Amb. Ocheger informed President Conde that during his tour of duty, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has directed him to work towards consolidating the cordial relations by, among others: holding regular political and diplomatic consultations; promoting cooperation in adding value to agricultural products, mining, tourism, trade, infrastructural development; and, promote peace and security in the countries, in particular, and Africa generally.

Amb. Ocheger is currently High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to the Federal Republic of Nigeria with concurrent accreditation to the Republics of Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Gambia He is also Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Republics of Benin, Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo and following the credentials ceremony, Guinea; with residence in Abuja.

The ceremony was attended by the Second Secretary at the Uganda High Commission in Abuja, Ms. Hajarah Kalinaki.
