Mister of Justice and constitutional affairs Maj. Gen Kahinda Otafiire has thanked the former Buyende District DPC Muhamad Kirumira for exposing the ‘Kawukumi’ that had infiltrated Uganda Police Force.
While celebrating the day for torture victims, Otafiire praised Kirumira for the work done.
“Kirumira saw these things and tried to talk but people took him for granted. They thought he was joking,” said Otafiire before adding that; “I therefore thank him for exposing the criminality in Police. What he used to say was the truth.”
Kirumira who also attended the ceremony also said that he was happy that government is appreciating what he exposed.
“I am happy and thank you for the recognition. I am now a whistle blower therefore I deserve a handshake for exposing the rot in police,” said Kirumira.
He further said that he will help the torture victims get justice.
Ever since the operation to spray Kawukumi out of police, over 26 High ranking police officers have been arrested with main man being former IGP Gen Kahinda Otafiire.
