Kampala Metropolitan police through their social media pages, have quashed rumours that have been circulating in the media, that Kampala South Regional Police Commander ACP. Hajj Bakaleke Siraje is in detention.
“Please discard the rumour of the alleged arrest and detention of ACP. Hajj Bakaleke Siraje Regional Police Commander KMP South by PSU.
“It’s false and amounts to fake news. The officer is at his place of work going about his duties in the region,” reads the statement issued on social media.
This website understands that yesterday evening, news of the arrest of Hajj Bakaleke was spreading on social media like wild fire.
It is believed that Bakaleke was arrested on grounds that he had robbed Shs1.4billon from Korean investors on gunpoint.
